Tell us more about the business.Ĭhatterbox is a pediatric therapy company which specializes in speech, occupational and physical therapy. So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Chatterbox story. The only speed bumps we would have hit is behind the scenes with regard to billing and insurance once we had that figured out and found the right people to work with us, it was a lot easier to focus on improving the clinic. We added patients only when we found a great therapist that would be able to treat them. I think it has been a smooth ride because we did not grow to quickly whereby we could not handle the load. It has been a fairly smooth road with not to many hiccups. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you? We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. We started Chatterbox with one patient back in 2005 only doing speech therapy and have grown to treating around 100 kids per week and now include physical and occupational therapy. I got my undergrad at Murray State and my masters at GA state.Īfter getting my masters, I went into the school system, while I love the schools I thought I could make a much bigger impact on kids if I could work with them one on one. I am originally from South Africa and decided to come over to America on a Tennis scholarship and to study Speech and Language Pathology. This was the start of the journey to becoming a Speech Therapist. It was then I decided I wanted to study hearing, speech and brain function. How did you get to where you are today?Īs a little girl, I had a double mastoidectomy, which caused me to be around ear nose and throat specialists growing up. Kerry-Lea, please share your story with us. Today we’d like to introduce you to Kerry-Lea Krog.
